 Born to Sissely Potts, cookbook writer extraordinaire, and Thomas Potts, general manager of a supermarket chain, Virginia "Pepper" Potts was never lacking for anything. Straight A student, head cheerleader, class valedictorian, she had everything going for her as she went to university to pursue a degree in business and political science. Her first year was fairly uneventful, with the only exception being her first internship at Stark Industries. Starting out in the media department, she managed to work her way up to the business floor within her short time there, ensuring her place there the following year. It's at this time that she meets the man who she will eventually marry: Harold "Happy" Hogan; nicknamed Happy because of his sheer inability to smile (or so Pepper would tell people later. In actuality, she thought Harold was a horrible name to call out in bed, and Happy was only slightly better). On the heels of this good news, she entered school again with a purpose: she'd been ambivalent about business before, but now, she knew it was the field she wanted to enter. The only kink in her second year? One Rachel Dawes. Following a very auspicious start, leading to a mass restitution project, she thought she'd never have to see that skinny weirdo again. Funny how a plan is just a list of things that never happens, isn't it? Fate of course, would step in and by the end of the year, her worst nemesis had become her best friend. The summer before she left for her second year at SI, Rachel and her moved in together in a little apartment they affectionally called "The Hovel" due to their complete inability to unite their two, very differing styles. Eventually, Pepper would graduate the top of her class, work at Stark Industries as Tony Stark's executive assistant, and marry his chauffeur. For the next four years, Happy and her would fluctuate between trying to live a 'normal' life, and being the close personal friends of a superhero and it was around the end of that time that Pepper found herself pregnant. Choosing instead to keep it a secret, she didn't say anything until it was too late: she miscarried and made one of the biggest mistakes of her life by not telling her husband. He would later be told by accident by Tony, and the subsequent argument with Pepper would lead to their separation. For six months, she managed to keep her public face as efficient and professional as it'd always been; her private life however was a shambles. Inappropriate friends and partners would become a norm as she acted out in anger to everyone. After six months however, her husband came back, they talked, and they got back together, vowing that they'd never part again. Two years later, he was dead and as a result, she left her job at Stark Industries to go across the country in order to lead the newly created superhero team, The Order. Codenamed Hera, she helped run the field missions and it was during her time in California that she met and befriended Will Beachum. Once her time at the Order was up, she was given the option to return to Stark Industries, this time as the Chief Operating Officer. She accepted, and moved back to New York in May of 2008. Now, finally having accepted her husband's death, she is slowly but surely moving on and is looking forward to whatever new adventures come her way. [End of actual canon][Beginning of fanon] August 2008 - Pepper Potts formally resigns from Stark Industries. This is done with the blessing of Tony Stark, and although Pepper is not sure what she'll be doing now, she's enjoying the fact that for the first time, she can be herself and not just in the shadows of Tony. August 25th, 2008 - Pepper begins her first day as the personal assistant for Senator Robert Kelly and is now living in DC. September 9th, 2008 - Pepper marries Larry Paul in a questionable ceremony in Las Vegas. October 1st, 2008 - Pepper leaves DC to return to SI, now as the CEO of the company. She moves in with her best friend Rachel, and together they live in next door to Tony and Steve. October 4th, 2008 - They learn their marriage was never legal due to the minister's lack of wedding license. This suits Pepper just fine as she has recently started a relationship with Warren Worthington. Yes, the third. October 21st, 2008 - While giving a presentation on security in Buenos Aires, a bomb goes off, causing the building to fall. She was crushed and almost every organ and bone broken. Thankfully, Tony creates a battery, quite similar to her reactor and she heals far quicker than expected. November 15th, 2008 - Tony presents Pepper with half of Stark Industries, naming her the new co-president, and is now his partner in almost all of his holdings. November 17th, 2008 - John Sheppard presents Pepper with a ring symbolizing their relationship. He is officially her older brother, and the ring is on her right hand ring finger. April 1st, 2009 - After a two month sabattical, Tony signs over all paperwork to Pepper, making her acting president for Stark Industries. Her relationship with Warren is rocky, and is causing personal problems for her, even though her professional life is, as always, intact. This journal is a complete work of fiction. Pepper Potts does not belong to me, and if she did, I'm sure she would've quit by now. This is all for entertainment purposes and it keeps me from doing any actual work at all because damn if she isn't addictive. If you enjoy her, let me know because I thrive on compliments. She is completely and utterly A U and almost all her prompts are based on RP events and fanon. If something is canon, I clearly mark it as such. All history stated here is AU and created by myself. Although there are aspects of canon within the history, it is interlaced with my own ideas. Along with my rp partners, I have worked very hard to create this character and flesh her out, so please don't take anything.
